Cannabis Mental Health.org

We review a site dedicated to promoting the dangers of high THC cannabis for young people and provides a forum for people to post their experiences. This site is not “anti-cannabis” and acknowledges the benefits of CBD in medical science.

The aim of the site is not to promote fear of cannabis but to make the case for the increased awareness of mental health conditions. Cannabis is the drug of recreational choice in many countries and several countries have legalised it. Canada, British Columbia is currently undergoing a massive change in attitude as laws have changed significantly. Many people are saying this is a mental health time bomb as there has been a rapid increase in anxiety related mental health issues and psychosis.

The site publishes current news relating to marijuana and mental health and also publishes exerts of readers letters. There is a Submit your story function where readers can send there experiences. The website is designed quite well and it easy to read and does not feel cluttered. There is no advertising or pop up menus on the site which is a real plus point these days. I do not know if the site is based in the UK or the USA as no contact information is given however the website author could easily be contacted. I noticed that there is no consent for cookies on the site either. The site did take a little while to load so I tried the loading the site on different browsers and devices. I noticed that the site was created using responsive blocks as the site looked very different on my mobile. It was a little cramped on the mobile however on a tablet it was a different experience. Desktop is where this site looks best as the site has a lot of space and everything works visually well on the eye.

The site makes reference to increase in hydroponic growing which it says is accountable for the increase in mental health related issues. The site says cannabis has increased fourfold in the last 30 years yet there is no link that can be followed to read the source of this information and the reader is left wondering where this information came from. There are a couple of pieces of information on the site that would benefit from having clear referencing. I also feel the site would benefit from having more resources and links to pages as there are only several on there at the time of writing. The site seems to be very much in its infancy. I think this site could be a good resource for people who are looking for some support and want to vent their negative mental health experiences with cannabis. I do not know the exact age of this site as the articles and submissions do not have any dates or times shown but it looks like it is in development. I will check back at this site next month to see what progress has been made.
